GARDNER, JOHN HOWLAND, III, M.D. 89, died at Ahuja Hospital on March 25th with his loving daughters present.
Born New Haven, CT. Oct. 1, 1931 to John Howland Jr. & Ruth (Huntley) Gardner (both deceased).
Married Anne Kates Larkin, R.N. April 23, 1960 (deceased April 2006).
Children: Elizabeth Milgram (Tom), Helen & Sarah (deceased).
Education: The Foote School, New Haven, CT; Berkshire Prep (Mass.); Harvard College class of 1952, Yale School of Medicine 1956.
Intern Stanford 1956-7; Strong Mem. Hospital, Rochester, NY Resident in Medicine; Boston City Hospital 1959-61 Resident in Neurology. Assoc. Clinical Prof., Case Western Reserve School of Medicine 1967-98.
He was a Vestryman at St. Paul's PE Church, Cleveland Heights.
Active in the Yale Alumni Assoc. for many years including Chair of the Yale Scholarship Ball.
John was an avid skeet shooter, hunter, photographer, and sailor. A lover of classical music, John was also an excellent cook. One of the smartest, most fun people you could know. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 24th at 11am in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2747 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44106.
