Adelaide Morton Fox of Boca Grande, Florida, formerly of both Shaker Heights and Upper Arlington, OH, died peacefully October 19, 2011 in Wilmington, DE. Born in Cleveland in 1923, Adelaide grew up in Shaker Heights, graduating from Miami University of Ohio in 1945. She and her husband Clarence married soon after and raised their family in Shaker Heights and Upper Arlington, Ohio. Adelaide was a gifted gardener, nurturing her garden with care, patience and productivity--skills practiced and refined while raising her children. Always the quintessential ladya"a person of grace and generositya"she cultivated a wide circle of friends with whom she enjoyed visiting, playing bridge and sharing her wry, quiet humor. Adelaide's many gifts included her skills as a seamstress, cook-par-excellence and keeper of a warm and welcoming home. A dedicated volunteer at her children's schools and parish, she also gave countless hours to the Christ Child Society in Cleveland and Columbus. Most of all, "GaGa" loved her ever-growing family, traveling nationwide to witness their special events, graduations, weddings and baptisms. After her husband's death, she moved to Boca Grande, Florida where she endeared new friends while continuing to help at her parish and volunteer on the island. Adelaide was preceded in death by her brothers, Msgr. Louis Morton, William Jackson Morton, and her sister, Ruth Sanna and by her beloved husband of 42 years, Clarence and their son Jimmy.
