Alan Wilde

Alan H. Wilde MD, 78 died of cancer on 5/25/2012. Until his death he practiced at Lutheran Hospital. He had been an orthopedic surgeon with the Cleveland Clinic for 25 years and was department chairman for 15 years years. He served on the Cleveland Clinic Board of Governors. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Hahnemann Medical College and the University of Pittsburgh. He also attended Harvard University and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He had been President of the Mid-America Orthopedic Association and Treasurer of the American Orthopedic Association. He had been a Deacon and Trustee of Fairmount Presbyterian Church and was on the Board of the Community West Foundation. He was the beloved husband of Merry M. nee Meyer of Broadview Hts.; dear father of Alan H., Jr. fiancée, Stephanie Switzer of Broadview Hts., OH, Douglas M. Valerie of Short Hills, NJ, and Laurie Wilde Spielman of Shaker Hts., OH; dear grandfather of Alan H., III, Mary, Edward and Franklin Wilde, Emma Wilde, Sarah and David Spielman; dear brother of Norman T. Wilde, Jr. Beverly of Philadelphia, PA. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions, in his name, to CommunityWestFoundation.org. 20545 Center Ridge Rd. Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, May 31st at 11 a.m., in Grace Lutheran Church, 13001 Cedar Rd., Cleveland Hts., OH., Family will receive Friends at the Church beginning at 10am prior to the memorial service at 11 a.m. Family entombment services will be in Lake View Cemetery.
