AMY ELIZABETH "BETSY" HOLDEN nee Burrows, died July 11th, 2009. Betsy was the beloved wife of the late Paul L. Holden, Jr. She is survived by her children Thomas William Holden of Steamboat, Colorado, Susan Elizabeth Russell of Brecksville, and Barbara Jean Holden of Austin, Texas, and grandchildren Christopher Douglas Newman of Lakewood, Kelly Ann Newman of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Blaise Lyle Holden and Benjamin Frederick Holden of Steamboat, Colorado, and step-granddaughter, Lindsay Meredith Carter of Stow. Betsy was Born on December 22, 1916 to George Frederick and Amy Clare Burrows, Betsy Holden resided in Cleveland Hts., Shaker Hts. and Pepper Pike. She attended Laurel School and William & Mary College, where she studied Art. Betsy married Lt. Col. Paul Leroy Holden, Jr. on March 7, 1943. She was a member of the Cleveland DAR, the Town and Country Garden Club, Bridge Club, the Cleveland Womens Centennial Commission, Whiff & Poof Golf Group, and Fairmount Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Tuesday, July 14th at BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH, WHERE THE FAMILY WILL BE WELCOMING VISITORS ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE, BEGINNING AT 12 NOON. Interment following at Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Hts., OH. The family requests that instead of flowers, donations may be made in Betsy's name to the Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Ave., Cleveland, OH, 44113.
