Arthur Brenneman

August 8, 1932 — March 28, 2014

ARTHUR LOYD BRENNEMAN was the beloved husband of Kathryn R. (nee Roberts) of Shaker Hts., OH and the dear son of the late Col. Loyd and Frances Weed Brenneman. Art was the brother-in-law of Eileen L. Roberts of Dayton, OH and cousin of John A. (Carol) and Robert A. Linsenmeier (Joan).

He is also survived by his beloved dog, Carrie, and Siamese cat, Sid.

From the inception of Richard Fleischman + Partners Architects (1961), Arthur Brenneman has applied his management and project skills to the RFA process, administering projects through their daily progress.

His comprehensive communicative techniques, including verbal and graphic media, encourage creative dialogue that promotes the total program development.

His organizational and analytical expertise has guided a wide variety of projects to fruition, from architectural works such as office buildings, educational facilities, high technology centers, correctional facilities, and housing complexes to master planning and urban planning studies. Mr. Brenneman's unique sensitivity to environmental design elements has proved effective in interior space planning as well.

He has collaborated with Richard Fleischman on many of the award-winning projects in which the firm has been involved. He was the Project Architect for the Ohio Aerospace Institute; coordinating the efforts of the in-house staff and consultants, and collecting and disseminating the client's requirements. He was also the Project Architect for The University of Akron Polymer Science Building.

Projects for the City of Cleveland, for which he was Project Manager are, Zelma Watson George Community Center in Luke Easter Park and a series of renovations in City Hall. These renovations all involved the restoration of the original high ceiling by handling the distribution of ductwork in a creative way. Mr. Brenneman's managerial expertise is also evident in projects such as Span-the-Tracks for the University of Akron, the North Coast Harbor Design Guidelines, Akron-Summit County Public Library, Case Western Reserve University Medical School Expansion, and the A.J. Celebrezze Federal Building Plaza Renovation.
