Arthur K. Brintnall is a native of Ohio who, after living in many parts of the country, including Corning, NY, Seattle, Washington, Colorado and North Carolina, moved back to Ohio. He retired from a career in Industry and Academic Administration. He held key corporate level executive positions in Industrial Relations and Organization Development with Corning Glass and The B. F. Goodrich Company. He moved from industry to academia and was Dean of Fort Lewis College and Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the University of Akron. He earned his A.B. Degree at Denison University, his Ph.D. at U.C.L.A. and did graduate work at the Johns Hopkins University. His professional activities include service on the Board of the Industrial Relations Research Association, membership on the Research Advisory Committee of the Foundation for Research in Human Behavior and as an adviser to the National Industrial Conference Board. He has been awarded membership in numerous honorary societies and has been a frequent speaker at American Management Association and other national meetings. Art was President of a county hospital board, President of the County Red Cross and was a Chamber of Commerce Board member. He has been a church moderator and on the board of a library and historical society. He has been a Rotarian for more than twenty years and is a Paul Harris Fellow. He was married for 73 years to Gladys Merchant and is survived by his wife, daughters Marjorie Shorrock and Barbara Moreland, son Michael Brintnall, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Gladys, his wife was a college classmate. Art and Gladys were active hikers in the mountains and share an enthusiasm for the wonders of nature.
