Barbara Weinfurtner

Barbara Boykin Weinfurtner is survived by her husband, Robert K. Weinfurtner, her sister Betsy Zahtilla Karl, her three sons Karl Barb, Edward Amy, James Annette, her daughter, Molly Brunner Rick, and her grandchildren, Suzanne, Barbara, Rebecca and Robbie Weinfurtner, Andrew, Kelley, Alyssa, Brody and Jamie Weinfurtner, Casey and River Weinfurtner, Jesse and Sean Brunner and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, William and Jack Boykin, her sisters, Anne Springer and Marion Petti. Barbara was a founding member of Church of St. Dominic in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and an active member of the Dominican Chorale for over 25 years. She was a recipient of the Cantando Devotio award, which is presented every year to the choir member who has shown exemplary devotion to St. Dominic Music Ministry. She was a member of the Shaker Heights Country Club, the Royal Ponciana Golf Club, and St. William's Church, in Naples, FL. Barbara enjoyed golf and bridge, and was an avid reader. She graduated from Colby Jr. College in New London, NH, where she was president of her dorm. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Mass will be held at Church of St. Dominic, 19000 Van Aken Blvd, in Shaker Heights on Saturday, October 13 at 10:30 AM. Reception immediately following at Shaker Heights Country Club.
