BIAGIO DI DIO "Bill" The beloved husband of Joan E. Di Dio nee Bolekof Shaker Hts., OH, passed away September 16th, 2012. Biagio was the dear father of Mary E. Sprang Josh of Lakewood, OH, and Christian Di Dio Sarah of San Diego, CA, and the dear grandfather of Callie and Jacob Sprang. Biagio was born in Cleveland, OH to Scholastica Schilero and Joseph Di Dio. He had one older brother, Carmelo, who passed in 1942. He joined the Army in 1946 and toured Europe after WWII, playing trumpet in the Army band. After working as a musician and trumpet teacher in New York, Biagio moved back to Cleveland in the 1960s and worked for the Veteran's Administration for the next few decades. Biagio was a devout Catholic and met his future bride one morning after daily mass. He married Joan E. Bolek on April 14, 1973 and raised two children, Mary and Christian and four dogs. Biagio was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed watching Notre Dame and Indians games, reading, spending time with his family, and taking long drives through Amish country with his wife. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to The Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged, 4291 Richmond Rd., Beachwood, OH 44122 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 21st at 10 am in The Church of St. Dominic, 19000 Van Aken Blvd.at Norwood, Shaker Hts., OH. Interment Lake View Cemetery. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH FROM 2-4 AND 6-8 PM.
