Bonnie P. Gepfert

Bonnie P. Gepfert (nee Proudfoot) age 80 passed away on July 15, 2023 in Shaker Heights, OH.  Beloved wife of Paul, loving stepmother of Leslie (Michael) Marting and Holly (Iain) Kalfas.  Dear step-grandmother to Michael Marting Jr., Pauline Marting and Natalie Schambs Kalfas.  Devoted sister of Sally P. Gries (Bob).

Bonnie fought a courageous battle with mesothelioma for 17 years and was the second longest survivor of the disease.  As such she was an advisor to mesothelioma patients and their caregivers.  The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center, the wonderful caregivers of Home Instead, and Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Born January 30, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Janet B. and Oliver P. Proudfoot, she graduated from Rocky River High School and Northwestern University, class of 1965, where she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority.  She remained active in their alumnae association.  She was a former member of the board of Young Audiences of Greater Cleveland and the Women's Council of the Cleveland Museum of Art, and a member of the Junior League of Cleveland.

Professionally she was an interior designer and an entrepreneur, founding Gepfert & Associates LLC in 1990, a wholesale manufacturer's furnishings representative group specializing in the Hospitality  and Healthcare segments of the commercial industry.

Bonnie loved travel, gardens, books, golf and her family above all, and was a person of deep faith.
