Burleson Davis White was born on May 1st, 1929 in Lakewood, Ohio to Calvin and Ruth White. He attended Lakewood High School and graduated in 1947. Subsequently, he enrolled at Colorado College in Boulder, Colorado and received a Bachelor's degree four years later. Mr. White then decided to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, and rose to the rank of Sergeant. After being honorably discharged in 1954, and joined the accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst , became a Certified Public Accountant, and was employed with them for the next 10 years. Mr. White then went on to serve as the Assistant Director for the American Society for Metals. He was, later, a volunteer fire fighter for the city of Beachwood in the 1960's, before they had a full time fire department. In the 1970's and 80's, he served as one of the city auditors for Beachwood. In the 1970's, Mr. White started his own accounting firm and ran this business out of an office in Woodmere, Ohio. In 1995, be began working out of his home and continued to do so until January 5th, 2009, 22 days before his death at the age of 79. Mr. White carried a amature radio licence, a "HAM Radio Operator, for many years, sending under the call sign, WA8FQI. We ask that other operators send out his "silent key"" signal. Burleson White is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor M. nee Ryan of Beachwood, Ohio. He was the dear father to Susan White-Vickers Robert Vickers of Aurora, Ohio, William E. White of University Hts., Ohio, and Martha W. Demartini Arthur J., Jr. of East Northport, New York. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Noelle Ryan and Eleanor Lucille Demartini. He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin William White and his sister, Ruth W. Delafield Ericson. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 31st at BROWN-FORWARD FUNERAL HOME, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH, WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL FRIDAY 6-8 PM.
