Carol G. Carran (nee Goldsword), age 88, passed away on June 28, 2020 of natural causes. Carol was a lifelong Cleveland resident. She was born on May 22, 1932 to Charles L. and Ruth (nee Jenkins) Goldsword. She grew up in Cleveland Hts. and graduated from Heights High School. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from Michigan State University. Carol was an elementary school teacher in the South Euclid/Lyndhurst school district. She was active in the Cleveland alumnae chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, a member of several garden clubs, volunteer at the Cleveland hearing and Speech Center and the Hillcrest YWCA.
Beloved wife of 63 years to William M. Carran, Jr.; loving mother of Cynthia O'Neill (Timothy) and Leslie Smith (Craig); dear grandmother of Maureen and Shane O'Neill, Carran, Morgan and Hayley Smith and the late Benjamin O. Smith; dear aunt of Scott C. and Jeffrey Williams; dear sister of the late Jane G. Williams.
The family is grateful to the staff at Ohio Living Breckenridge Village Fairmount Health Center for their loving care of Carol during the last years of her life.
