Carol Semple

CAROL V. SEMPLE nee Vogt Age 92, died at the Breckinridge Village August 30th, 2010. Carol was a long time resident of Shaker Heights, Ohio. Carol was the beloved wife of the late George T. Semple, who died in 2001, and the dear mother of Laurie S. Reed Richard of Chesterland, OH and Bonnie S. Carlson of Orange, OH. She was the dear grandmother of Elizabeth R. Hearn, Virginia R. Morgan, Paul S. Reed and Kimberly Carlson Hobson. She was the dear great grandmother of Reed, Andrew and Catharine Morgan, Kaitlin and Clare Hearn, and Halla, Richard Jack and Anne Reed, and William and Lucia Hobson. Carol was also the dear sister of the late Clifford J. Vogt, MD. Carol was a longtime volunteer in several organizations in the greater Cleveland area, to include the Junior League of Cleveland, Friendly Inn and Beachbrook. She was an accomplished athlete. She played tennis and ice skated at the Cleveland Skating Club, sailed at the Mentor Harbor Yacht Club and was a past women's golf club champion at the Mayfield Country Club. She also curled and played paddle tennis at Mayfield CC. Carol loved to fish and for many summers, she fished the Georgian Bay. Carol and George enjoyed over twenty-five years of winter trips to their condo at Quail Ridge, Boynton Beach, Florida. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to The Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119. A Celebration of Life will be held for Carol in the Mayfield Country Club, 1545 Sheridan Rd., So. Euclid, OH 44121, Friday Nov. 26th from 4-6 PM. BROWN-FORWARD SERVICE 216 752-1200
