Born August 16, 1955, beloved wife of 39 years Carolyn Teare-Richardson (62) passed peacefully on July 6, 2018, surrounded by family. She is survived by husband Jim, mother Lorna, mother-in-law Mary, sons Michael (Hayley) and Devon (Kaitlin), granddaughter Tilly, sister Diana (Rick), brothers Gary (Cecilia) and Alan (Jennifer) and their children, Kiera, Brianne, Taylor, Adrian, Mara, Amelie and Sebastienne. Preceded in death by father Fred and father-in-law Harold.
Carolyn was a compassionate woman, actively involved in her church and community, donating her time and skills to benefit others. Family and friends felt safe with Carolyn, drawn to her generosity, open spirit and welcoming, accepting nature.
Carolyn was a traveler and ex-pat with friends the world over, living most of her life in Toronto (Canada), Vancouver (Canada), Wassenaar (Netherlands) and Cleveland (USA).
She attended the Ontario College of Art, followed by University of Toronto, studying Art as Applied to Medicine. She was a Medical Illustrator both freelance and at Saint Paul's Hospital in Vancouver (Canada). Upon retirement, she studied art in Europe and transitioned into portraits and landscapes. She was a creative force, painting into her final days and was a music lover, especially of her son's band Jane's Party.
A wonderful cook and gardener, she was happiest making a home and connecting with loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made toward Parkinsons research. Service to be held Wednesday, July 11, 10AM, at the Church of the Covenant, Cleveland, Ohio.
