CHARLES M. CLARK, Age 85, of Mentor, OH, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 16th, 2013.
His wife of 65 years, Jean, and his daughter-in-law, Barb, were by his side.
Chuck was born in Cleveland, OH on February 29th, 1928, as the second child to the late Norman Chester Clark and Elsie Gertrude Moodie.
When he was 17 years old he joined the police academy. Upon graduation, he became a patrolman for the City of Shaker Heights. After serving in the police force for many years, in 1984 he achieved his greatest goal of becoming the Chief of Police in the City of Moreland Hills. Chuck's hard working career in the sometimes harsh environment of law enforcement did not keep him from showing his selfless and generous side, as his ultimate goal was really to make people happy, regardless of his personal sacrifices.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Jean M. (nee Preisler), his daughter Marybeth Clark of Newbury Twp., his son James M. Clark (Barb) of Mentor, and granddaughters, Marissa M. Clark of Newbury Twp. and Melissa M. Clark of Mentor, his nieces Julie A. Owen of Willowick and Linda Owen of Madison, and nephew Bill Owen of California.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Michelle J. Clark, his sister Virginia Owen and nephew "Butchie" Owen.
