Charles Scanlon

CHARLES BROWN SCANLON "Charlie", Age 21 of Shaker Hts., OH, died accidentally June 6th, 2009, while climbing Devil's Summit near Mossman, Australia. Charlie was spending a semester abroad at James Cook University in Cairns, AU. He was enrolled at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, majoring in environmental economics. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman, a determined participant in SLU's Outdoor Program, a true athlete, and a talented artist. Charlie graduated in 2006 from University School of Hunting Valley, OH. He was a beloved son of Bob Scanlon and Carol "Candy" Neville and a brother of William N., Timothy H., Margaret A. and Rebecca M. Scanlon, all of Shaker Hts., OH, Rob Scanlon of Charleston, NC, Katie Gehn of Spokane, WA, and Meghan Bachman of Portland, OR. He was also a dear grandson of Ruby Neville of Shaker Hts., OH, cousin, nephew, and friend of many. FRIENDS AND FAMILY CAN VISIT WITH CHARLIE ON TUESDAY, JUNE 23 FROM 2-4 AND 6-8PM AT BROWN-FORWARD, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD, SHAKER HTS, OH. Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday June 24 at 4 PM, in The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland, 3630 Fairmount Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH.
