Clark W. Knierman, age 90, passed into heaven on April 22. Born April 2, 1924 in Homewood Junction, PA and raised in Linesville, PA. Beloved son of the late Raymond Henry Knierman and Ethel Moore Knierman.
He was first in his family to attend college, was a proud member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and graduated Cornell University in January 1945 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he proudly served our country as an Ensign in the US Navy.
Clark was the past owner and President of The Ohio Desk Company, former member of the Cleveland Heights Board of Zoning Appeals, past President of Cleveland Heights Rotary, former Chairman of the Cleveland Better Business Bureau, Board Member of Ohio Motorist Association, member of the Cleveland Skating Club and past President of the Cleveland Athletic Club where he developed a passion for bowling and formed many lifelong friendships. He continued bowling and playing tennis regularly until the past year. He was an avid backgammon and gin rummy player.
He was married to the love of his life, Mary Bigalke Knierman, for 60 years, until her death in May of 2008 and a wonderful father to Robert, John and Ann; father-in-law to Ann Marie and Tammy; devoted grandfather to Lauren, Brian, Jared, Heath & Blake Knierman, Dominick B. McKay, and brother to Carol Huffman, of Sebring FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that those who wish make memorial contributions in his name to Meals on Wheels, 40 Severance Circle, Cleveland Hts., OH 44118.
A Memorial Service will be held at Wade Chapel of Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106 on Monday, May 5th at 11:00 AM.
