A talented architect and graphic designer, Diane's career began in Minneapolis working for the firm Bentz, Thompson, Rietow. She later moved to Boston where she became a lead designer for Gram Gund Architects, designing several prominent buildings in Boston as well as a campus town center for Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA and the Lincoln Public Library in Lincoln, MA. Diane met James Lyon in New Haven, CT in 1992 and they were married April 23rd 1994 in San Gimignano, Italy. Soon after came son Otto and the family was complete in 1997 when daughter Greth was born. Living between Western Massachusetts and Shaker Heights, Ohio, Diane and family enjoyed both city and country life and built great memories in both places. Diane loved family life and Motherhood was her most cherished role. Otto and Greth embody their mother's kindness and intelligence and she was tremendously proud of the people they have become. Diane was a rare individual who met the world with openness and a quiet wisdom that inspired those around her. She also leaves behind many friends who had the benefit of her generous spirit. We were all made better by her love and we will miss her beautiful spirit and her beaming smile.
The family will sit Shiva at 3109 Chadbourne Rd., Shaker Hts. Friday & Saturday, August 2nd & 3rd, from 1pm until 8pm.
