Diane Spring

DIANE SPRING, 68, of Highland Heights, OH. Beloved wife of William Spring died on July 15, 2011 after a battle with a rare form of ovarian cancer. Daughter of Evelyn Ahrens Johnson, sister to Dale Schroeder deceased. Mother of Scott, Brad and Mark; mother-in-law to Jennifer, Megan and Dana; grandmother of Anna, Matthew, Morgan and William; friend to many. Diane was raised in Port Clinton, OH and earned a degree in speech therapy from Kent State University in 1964. Married to Bill Spring in 1964 and settled in Cleveland Heights and later Shaker Heights. Pursued a career in fundraising/development with several renowned Cleveland non-profit institutions including Judson Retirement Community, Benjamin Rose Institute and Hospice of the Western Reserve. She loved tennis, golf, bridge, the Cayman Islands and spending time with her many dear friends. She was an active volunteer with the Cleveland Children's Guild, which raises funds to support small, local charity organizations focused on child health, education and well-being. Friends are invited to honor and celebrate Diane's life at Shaker Heights Country Club, 3300 Courtland Blvd. on Friday, July 22 from 1 to 3 PM with a short service commencing at 1:30 PM
