Earl B. Stilson of Twinsburg, Ohio, formerly of Shaker Heights., Ohio, died May 12th, 2011. Earl was the beloved husband of Ruth O. Oviatt and the late Betty nee Rearick. He was the dear father of David Stilson Sherrie Furey-Stilson of University Hts., Ohio and Robert Stilson Riko of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina and the stepfather of Jerry Steel Anne Morris Steel of Aurora, Ohio. Earl was the grandfather of Liam, Daniel, George and Kiyo Stilson. Earl was born in Boardman, Ohio, October 29th, 1920, the son of the late Earl B. and Sarah Davies Stilson. When Earl was sixteen years old, his father died and Earl became the "bread winner" for the family. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and served as a second lieutenant, navigator, aboard B-25 bombers, receiving four battle stars during his duty with the 453rd Bomber Group After serving overseas, he returned to Cleveland and was in steel sales with Youngstown Sheet and Tube for twenty eight years. In 1966, he left the company to join Demsey and Associates as Vice President of Sales, where he eventually retired. Earl loved to play golf and was a former member of the Shaker Heights Country Club and many professional organizations. Earl was a Mason and was honored with the designation as a 33rd degree Mason. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to The Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E.185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119. Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 20th at 1 PM in The Hudson Congregational Church, 47 Aurora St., Hudson, OH 44236. Interment Bedford Cemetery.
