Elana Noreen Hanna was born on January 13, 1980 to Carol and John Hanna at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Elana was a healthy baby until medical issues began to plague her. Throughout her life Elana was loving and giving. All who met her were touched as only Elana could touch them.
She graduated from Beachwood High School. Following graduation she was employed at the Cuyahoga Education Resource Center and attended an adult activity center where she had many friends and recreational activities.
Elana lived a full life despite her limitations. She attended school, church services, play dates with friends, summer camps, and absolutely enjoyed water and music. She was baptized in 1994 by Vern Miller and again in 2007 by Robin Miller. She had an infectious smile and loved to blow kisses and give hugs. She captivated the heart of her school van driver, Charlean Hudson, who became a full time caregiver to Elana.
Elana lived at home with her mother until 2007 and she became a resident of Saint Augustine Manor. Her medical needs required skilled nursing that was given with much love and dedication. Although she was not able to speak, she brightened the faces of all who knew her.
Elana leaves to morn her father John and her mother Carol, her sisters Lillian Hanna Bowling, Elisa Byrd (Mike), her uncle James Bradley, her nieces and nephews Anyssa, Alexandria, Myles, and Christian (Max). She also leaves a host of extended family, friends, coworkers and co-residents who adored her.
Prepared by her sister Lillian Hanna Bowling.
