Elizabeth F. McBride

Elizabeth “Betsy” McBride (nee Frolking) of Pepper Pike, OH passed away on March 21, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Herbert “Bert” McBride, dear mother of Heather McBride and Holly Smith, sister to the late Peter Frolking, loving grandmother of Christopher, Valerie (Chris), and Lauren (Andy), and great-grandmother to two. Also survived by her cherished cat, Lily. 

Born in Cleveland and raised in Shaker Heights, Elizabeth was a proud 1949 graduate of Hathaway Brown School and an active alumni throughout her life. An admirer of the arts and education, Elizabeth loved attending Cleveland Orchestra concerts at Severance Hall, volunteering at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, and visiting the Cleveland Museum of Art. She was a member of the Cleveland Skating Club and the Cleveland Doll Club for many years. Elizabeth enjoyed spending family vacations at Cape Cod and Sanibel Island. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, gardening and watching PBS. Elizabeth was a generous and caring person who will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and community.

Suggestions include Beech Brook, The Cleveland Orchestra, and The Cleveland Botanical Garden. Services will be held Friday, March 29 at 1:30pm (reception to follow) at Brown-Forward Funeral Home, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH.
