Ellen Veronica Clark, 87, died December 25, 2017.
Ellen was born May 2, 1930 to Viola and Erich Wollaeger in Cleveland.
She and her brother Erich (Rick) Wollaeger grew up in Cleveland Heights. The family was active at Grace Lutheran Church where Ellen sang in the choir. Ellen graduated from Laurel School in 1948. After high school she attended Briarcliff Junior College in New York. Furthering her passion for art she obtained an art degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Ellen worked for American Greetings and the American Red Cross. On September 17, 1955 she married Richard Wellman Clark (died May 2017). The couple resided in Strongsville for most of their married life.
Ellen enjoyed gardening and volunteering at The Holden Arboretum. She loved her Dalmatians and was active in the Western Reserve Dalmatian Club. In 2000 Ellen illustrated a book authored by Evelyn H. Ward and Nancy Schneider about a Dalmatian at Christmas time. Her artistic talents included watercolors, jewelry making and drawing caricatures. Ellen is survived by her sister-in-law Madge Wollaeger and nephews Christopher and Philip Wollaeger. Her Memorial service will be private.
