Eric Christopher

ERIC C. DIX, AGE 49, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, died suddenly March 31st at the Solon Medical Campus of St. Vincent's Charity Hospital. Eric was the beloved husband of Prathuangthip "Thip" Dix, the dear father of Atinuch "Toon" Pantana of San Diego, CA, Christopher Boone of San Francisco, CA and Andrew J. Dix of Chagrin Falls, OH. He was the grandfather of Alanya Lynne Barber. Eric's mother, Nancy L. Dix, also survives him along with his grandmother, Helen Previr. Eric was the brother of John C. Dix Lisa Short, Joel M. Dix Sherry and Thomas M.. Dix Cheryl. Eric was born in Cleveland, Ohio, lived in Shaker Heights and graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1978. He went on to graduate from John Carroll University in 1982, and then went on to join the US Navy in 1985. Eric completed the officer's candidate school, served in the active Navy, and then the Naval reserves until 1992 when he was honorably discharged as a full Lieutenant. While serving in Thailand, he met his wife "Thip" and they were married in l992. Eric and Thip managed many residential properties in Thailand and he traveled back and forth between homes in both Chagrin Falls and Thailand. However, Eric's business schedule never kept him too busy to keep up with his son, Andrew's activities in middle school soccer. Eric was an avid fisherman; both fly and cast, and fished in Canada and throughout the countries he visited overseas. He loved to read and became quite a gourmet cook. The family suggests that those who wish may make contributions in his name to the scholarship fund of John Carroll University, 20700 North Park Blvd., University Hts., OH 44118.
