Frederick Severn

June 15, 1927 — February 17, 2013

Frederick J Severn, formerly of Moreland Hills and Bainbridge and currently from Naples, FL passed away on February 17, 1927. Fred was born in Birmingham, England June 17, 1927 to Frederick J. and Lily Severn. He was married to the late Kathleen, "Kay" Severn and is survived by his stepchild, Sandra Rookmakker Kees of Singapore, and step-grandchildren, Simon O'Donnelly Angela of Australia, Claire Groome Mark and Cathryn Hindle Chris of England and Wales, and seven step-great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister Maud Scheiner Huston Keith of Naples, Fl, formerly of Moreland Hills, OH, sister Lorraine Stanley Donald, their daughter Sarah all of Leominster, England and brother Lesley Diane and their children of Birmingham, England as well as several cousins. Fred is the former brother-in-law of the late James Scheiner of Moreland Hills, OH. Fred is also mourned by his nieces Caroline Scheiner of Medina, Elaine Scheiner Kamil Ivan, "Jeff" of Los Angeles, CA, James Kathleen, "Kitty" of Houston, TX and Robert Wendy of Florence, KY as well as great nephews Jeremy Kamil of Shreveport, LA and the late Adam Kamil, great niece Megan Kamil Sanjeev Ramakumar of San Jose, CA, George Scheiner Becky and great-great nieces Zoe Scheiner of Houston, TX and Charlotte Kamil of Shreveport, LA. Fred served God and Country in Palestine prior to it becoming Israel. After emigrating here to assist his sister, Maud, he became a Stephen Minister at Garfield Memorial Church. He was President of the local Kiwanis and President of the Auxiliary Board at Hillcrest Hospital. The family prefers that those who wish may send donations to Fred's favorite charity, St. Matthews House, 2001 Airport Pulling Road South, Naples, FL 34112. Funeral services will be held, Friday, March 8th at 11am in Garfield Memorial United Methodist Church, 3650 Lander Road, Pepper Pike, OH. Friends may call at Brown-Forward, 17022 Chagrin Boulevard, Shaker Heights, OH on Thursday, March 7, 2013 between 5pm-7pm.
