. A Celebration of Ted's Life will be held at Forest Hill Church, Presbyterian, 3031 Monticello Blvd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44118 on Friday, February 1st at 4 PM. A reception with family and friends will follow food and drinks provided. Ted had an extensive career in human resources and development, and retired as the Director of Leadership Development for the Parker Hannifin Company. In this role he partnered with leading business schools to develop a global program to build a generation of leaders. He was a life-long teacher, both by training and trade, who started his career working in human resources for Sherwood Refractories, Cleveland Steel Container, and Airborne Manufacturing. He volunteered his time and energy bridging the gap between the education and business communities as the leader of the ESBAC summer teachers program. Ted had many interests that spanned photography, sailing, and travel. He was an active member of the Photo Club at the Shaker Lakes Nature Center, where he served for a time as president. For over 25 years Ted sailed out of the Mentor Harbor Yacht Club; more recently he and his wife Diana were active members of Chagrin Lagoons Yacht Club where he was a casual sailor and frequent racer. His enjoyment of the outdoors was shaped by a lifetime of summer activities at the family cottage on Lake Charlevoix MI, and he worked to support efforts to protect and preserve green spaces in his communities. As a neighbor in the historic Inglewood district, he led a community initiative to have new trees planted to protect his neighborhood. Ted combined his love of nature and the outdoors with his passion for photography as he and his wife embarked on a wide-ranging travel agenda. Notable stops included trips to Alaska, Maine, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Peru, Israel, Trent-Severn Waterway, New Zealand, and Prague Czech Republic. As a true sports fan, he was a loyal supporter of all Cleveland sports team, and the University of Michigan often to the consternation of many of his friends, and always happy to engage in friendly rivalries.
