Harry Werwage

HARRY W. LUM, 70, passed away January 19th, 2012. Beloved husband of Candace J. Lum nee Jones for 50 years. Brother of Jennie Lynch. Father of Chip Karen Lum of Chagrin Falls, Megan Lum Mehalko of Pepper Pike, David Julie Lum of Shaker Heights. Son of the late Warren and Jane Lum. Grandfather of Taylor and Kristen Mehalko, Warren and Garrett Lum. Harry graduated from University School in 1959 and from Williams College in 1963. Mr. Lum started his career in the automotive business in the GM Cadillac Division Dealer Franchising department and has also served as a zone representative and general field manager for Ford Motor Co. In 1973, he served as the General Manager of Cross Roads Lincoln Mercury and bought the dealership in 1977. During his tenure as owner Cross Roads Lincoln Mercury sold more vehicles than any other dealer in Ohio. Also during this period Harry owned and operated dealerships in Dayton, Bedford, Cuyahoga Falls and North Olmsted. Harry was a former Chairman of the GCADA, Chairman of Lincoln Mercury Dealer Advertising Association for 17 years and served as the Association's Lead Negotiator during negotiations with the IAM and Teamsters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to University School, 2785 SOM Center Rd., Hunting Valley, OH 44022. A memorial service and celebration of Harry's life will be held at The Country Club, 2825 Lander Rd., Pepper Pike, OH 44124 on Thursday, January 26th beginning promptly at 4:30.p.m..
