Helen G. Fewsmith, 92, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, FL. Born in Cleveland Heights, OH, she moved to Vero Beach, FL, from Shaker Heights, OH, 29 years ago. Helen was a graduate of Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, PA, and Wellesley College. She was an editorial researcher for Time magazine New York, NY, for 2 years. Helen was a member of The Country Club of Cleveland, OH, where she served as the head of the Golf Association. She was also a member of the Moorings Club where she was on the Board of Governors and Hawk's Nest both of Vero Beach. She served as the president of the Cleveland Wellesley Alumnae Club. She was a former member of the Junior League of Cleveland and a member of the Community Church, Vero Beach. She is survived by her son Joseph Fewsmith, III, Irene of Cohasset, MA, daughter, Virginia F. McBride, of Climax, GA. Grandmother of Stephanie and Andrew Fewsmith; Shannon McBride and Erin KirklandSteve. Great grandmother of Shauna McBride, Catherine Gilliam, Stephen Kirkland, Emily Kirkland and Eve Kirkland. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Joseph Fewsmith, Jr. and her sister, Dorothy V. Gilbert. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to The Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH, 44130. Graveside Services will be held at Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH, on Saturday, June 9 at 10.30 AM.
