In 2008, the Hermann Menges, Jr. Professor of Internal Medicine Chairmanship was established in his honor at CWRU. He was a founding father of University Suburban Health Center USHC in South Euclid and led the organization as Chairman of the Board for 13 years, while maintaining a private practice with Cleveland Physicians, Inc. As Chairman, he was instrumental in strengthening the relationship between USHC and UHC and it was under his leadership that USHC's original building expanded to include two large additions housing nearly a dozen additional patient services. He retired from the Board in 1999 and in that same year his colleagues established the Hermann Menges, Jr., M.D. Education Center at USHC to honor his commitment to medical education and service to USHC. In 2005, he retired from private practice after 43 years, but continued to oversee the Center's cardiac stress test laboratory. He will be dearly missed by all of his friends at USHC. Bud was born in Bronxville, New York in 1932. He graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York in 1953 and from Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland in 1957. He was also recognized with a Past President's Award by the CWRU School of Medicine's Alumni Association.
