Horace S. "Tommy" Thompson, 89, beloved and devoted husband of 41 years to Marjorie nee Demeter, passed away on February 7, 2011 in Breckinridge Village, Willoughby Ohio. Tommy was the son of Grace and Porter Thompson of Illinois. Tommy was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Michigan Law School, where he earned his Jurist Doctorate degree. He was an attorney for the state of Ohio and served as a judge in the Bureau of Disability Determinations. Tommy was a veteran of World War II, stationed in the Philippines as Colonel of the Intelligence Division. He continued his military service in the US Army Reserves, assigned to the JAG Corps until 1978, retiring with the rank of Colonel, and was the Commander of the 141st JAG Detachment, USAR Reserve. He was also a Mason and a member of the Heights-Lion Heart Lodge #633. Tommy was a very active member of the Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Hts., OH 44118, serving as elder and deacon. He was also a member of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Walton Hills, 145030 Alexander Rd., Walton Hills, OH 44146. Donations in his memory may be made to either of his churches. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel at Breckenridge Village, 36855 Ridge Road, Willoughby, OH. BROWN-FORWARD SERVICE 216 752-1200
