James Kent Jordan III, aged 66, died suddenly at University Case Medical Center on Thursday, December 29, 2011 following cardiac surgery. Born September 4, 1945 in Augusta, Georgia, Mr. Jordan graduated from Benedictine High School in Cleveland, OH and Oberlin College. After serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Malaysia and a Red Cross volunteer in Vietnam, James settled in Massachusetts where he married and raised three daughters. After getting his start in insurance in Ohio, Mr. Jordan enjoyed a long career, most recently working as an insurance underwriter for a multinational company. He returned to Ohio in September of 2011, to begin his retirement. Survivors include daughters Agnes and Emily Jordan, and Bernice Harrington, mother Constance Bernice Jordan, and sisters Margaret Bass and Cynthia Jordan. James was preceded by his wife Cheryl. Box 6598, Kennewick, WA 99336-9998. Memorial Services will be held at Brown-Forward Funeral Home, 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44120 on Saturday January 14 at 1 PM.
