JANE B. FAVRET (nee Bohmer) Was the beloved wife for 69 years of John A. Favret of Chagrin Falls, OH; and the dear mother of Thomas P.. Favret (Melissa) of Chagrin Falls, OH; Susan F. Samerdyke (Paul) of LaBelle, FL; Jack Favret, Jr. (Barbara) of Cleveland Hts., OH; Sarah M. Steiner (John) of Bainbridge Island, WA; Julie F. Smith (Jack) of Somerset, MA; Paul G. Favret of So. Euclid, Oh and Timothy J. Favret of Shaker Hts., OH. She was the dear grandmother of twelve and dear great grandmother of eleven and the dear sister of Mary Ann Northrup of LaCoste, CA and the late Florence Meyer, Alan Bohmer, Helen Brumleve and Harry Bohmer.
Jane was born on November 28, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She attended grade and high school at the Academy of Sacred Heart and graduated in 1945. She then attended the Duchesne Residence School in NYC. She went to and from school by train, which was the way to travel at the time.
She returned to Cincinnati and worked at Henry Harris, a women’s dress and apparel store, when she met Jack Favret, who was attending Notre Dame University. They married June 18, 1949 at Annunciation Church in Cincinnati.
They resided at various residences in Hyde Park where Tom, Susan, John Jr, Sarah and Julie were born.
The family made their first trip to Cedarville, Michigan over Labor Day in 1951 to visit her Mother who had recently purchased a cottage there.
In 1960 Jack was transferred to the Cleveland office, and they moved to Shaker Heights. Paul and Tim were born there to complete the family of 7 children.
She and Jack traveled extensively to the USSR, China, Hong Kong, South America, Canadian Rockies, Africa and all over Europe. They renewed their vows on the 50th year of marriage on the shores of the River Jordan in Israel. She always said traveling with Jack was an education not a vacation.
Jane was always busy raising their (7) children and running an active household. She was very involved in Meals On Wheels, St Dominic Ladies Guild and PTO and was a member of the Christ Child Society. She enjoyed estate sales, bridge, and golf where she played with the nine holders at Shaker Heights Country Club. She loved to sing with her family around her player piano.
Jane always had a friendly smile and had a sense of humor about life. She lived with a full heart, sang with a full voice and loved us with all she had. We will miss her greatly but are heartened she is resting in God's arms.
The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to The Church of St. Dominic’s School, c/o The Church of St. Dominic, 19000 Van Aken Blvd., (at Norwood Rd.)
