Jane King Boyer Harris, beloved mother of Holly Boyer Scott (Peter) of Chagrin Falls, OH, Susan Harris White (Tod) of Chagrin Falls, OH and the late Robert Jerome Boyer, Jr. Dear grandmother of Sarah Boyer Felson (David), Michael Jerome Scott and Jacob Gardinier Scott (Sarah); Hunter Talbot White and Tucker Adams White. Dear great grandmother of Maren Keen Scott and Rhys Gardinier Scott.
A thoughtful leader who steered boards of organizations in which she believed- Hathaway Brown School, Planned Parenthood of Cleveland, The Junior League- all with dignity, grace and a collaborative style that allowed all voices to be considered. From Mom we have all learned how to care deeply without fanfare, how to move ideas forward without being pushy, and at the end of it all, how to tend to the most important item on the agenda, family and friends.
She was at core a mom, a wife, a lady who loved to be connected to others, be it through garden clubs, sharing her joy in books with customers at Fireside or traveling the world, making new connections. Never passing up the chance to see children or grandchildren at play or work, she reveled in the life of the family, hosting countless holiday parties, logging hours on uncomfortable benches or pop up chairs and recording all with 'Black Beauty', the ageless camera that took her precious photos.
The family prefers that those who wish make contributions in her name to Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, 18 E. 17th Ave., Columbus, OH 43201; Hawken School, P.O. Box 8002, Gates Mills, OH 44040; Hathaway Brown School, 19600 North Park Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44122 or your charity of choice.
Funeral Services will be held at Brown-Forward, 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44120 on Tuesday, December 23rd at 2 PM WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 1 TO 2 PM PRIOR TO THE SERVICE.
