Janet Goodell

JANET C. GOODELL nee Crowell, Age 88, was the beloved wife of Robert M. Goodell. Janet was the dear mother of Roy C. Lisa of Lyndhurst, OH , Daniel E. Linda of So. Euclid, OH and the late Martha G. Baxter. She was the dear grandmother of five and great grandmother of two. Janet was a 1938 graduate of Cleveland Heights High. She was a long time member of the Cleveland Hiking Club and the Cleveland Natural Science Club. She was an active volunteer at The Side Door Thrift Shop of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Janet knitted countless of little caps for the newborn and "preemie" babies of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and did this right up until shortly before her passing. She was an energetic swimmer for the "Swim for Diabetes" charity, and when she was 80, she won the event for her age class! Her love for being fit and engaging others to follow that path was evident in the 1980's when she started a "High Impact" women's exercise program in the Warrensville Heights High School. This program started with just one person and quickly grew to a group of over sixty! Her commitment to her church was from the beginning as she was one of the charter members of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Beachwood, OH. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 22111 Chagrin Blvd., Beachwood, OH 44122, where Memorial Services will be held Monday, May 3rd at 11AM.
