Janet Shierson

Janet Arend Shierson "Danny" passed away July 26 in Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 101. Born in New York City, Danny spent her youth in Cleveland and her married life in Adrian, Michigan. She graduated from Hathaway Brown School and Smith College. She enjoyed a life long interest in the arts, especially opera and literature and treasured the hours spent in her garden. For many years she was an active volunteer for the Bixby Hospital Auxiliary. Danny was married to James Shierson, who died in 1984. Her son, Douglas James Shierson, died in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Shierson Harding Frank of Cleveland, her daughter in law, Fern Shierson of Moorseville, N.C., and her granddaughters; Elizabeth Gold Adam of New York, N.Y., Katherine Lincoln Brinton of Gates Mills, OH, Molly Medlin Steve of Memphis, TN, Sarah Dumser Jim and Rebeccah Wickerham Scott of Moorseville, N.C. and twelve great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Adrian.
