Dr. Jeera Hayden (nee Clubwala), age 74, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, died on Sunday, August 13, 2017 after a short illness. Beloved wife of 46 years to Stephen Hayden; loving mother of William Hayden and Louise Hayden (John Leber); adoring grandmother to Isabelle and Emily.
She was an accomplished physician much loved by her patients. A 1967 graduate of the Royal Free Hospital Medical School, University of London, she had a 12 year career specializing in public health medicine and was awarded the Tanner Memorial Prize in Public Health. She was a Fellow of Faculty of Public Health in England and Member of the Royal Society of Medicine, and the American Medical Association. After moving with her family to the USA in 1979, she served the greater Cleveland community as a family physician for 20 years.
She loved time with family and friends around the world. She had a lifelong love of learning; was an avid reader, especially in history. She enjoyed cooking, health and fitness, fashion, environmentalism, and animal protection.
In her retirement, she earned a Certificate of Information Technology for Healthcare from The George Washington University and served as a partner in Social Venture Partners (SVP). Contributions are suggested to HFLA (
