Joan "JoJo" W. Caminati, age 95 of Shaker Heights, OH, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2017, having recently shared warm memories with a significant portion of her extended family. Everybody loved "JoJo", who brought an abundance of joy and enrichment to all those she touched. Her diminutive stature concealed her hidden strengths and endearing character.
She was the loving wife of the late Armand C. Caminati, a well known Cleveland area restauranteur and owner of the highly regarded Caminati's restaurants. She was the devoted mother of the "Avalon Road Gang" of five children and showing them, by example, how to lead a good life -- Armand Calisto "Cal" Caminati, Jr. (Renee) of Solon, OH, Donald A. Caminati (Lee) of Houston, TX, Laura J. Engel of Chicago, IL, William J. Caminati of Tucson, AZ and Barbara A. Matheny (Dan) of Findlay, OH.
Joan had 11 adoring grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Donald Loranger was the devoted brother and caregiver for Joan. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Loranger and Elizabeth "Betty" Blackmun, and her brother Andrew "Hal" Loranger.
The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St, Cleveland, OH 44119. A Funeral Service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, July 1st at Brown-Forward Funeral Home, 17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH, 44120; FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 10AM-12PM ON SATURDAY, JULY 1ST AT BROWN-FORWARD. Interment, Calvary Cemetery.
