John Hunter

December 8, 1960 — October 16, 2011

JOHN FOREST HUNTER, III of Shaker Heights, Ohio, died October 16th, 2011. John was the beloved son of Gay Hunter nee Smith and the late John Forest Hunter, Jr. of Shaker Hts., OH. He was the dear brother of Susan Hill B.J. and Karen Hunter-Mennenga Chris Mennenga and the dear uncle of Ben Hill Cindy, Kelly Hill, and Amelie and Bridgette Mennenga. John graduated from Shaker Heights High School and attended Cleveland State University and Cuyahoga Community College. He worked for Office Max for several years. He loved art, books, photography, poetry, history, travel, and his cat, Princess. He enjoyed bible study, singing in the church choir, and going on a mission trip to Mexico. He spent many hours working on the family genealogy. He was recognized as a member of the First Families of Ohio, a direct descendant of an individual who settled in the area now encompassed by the State of Ohio by the end of 1820, and was also a descendant of a soldier in the Revolutionary War. John touched the lives of many people, even though he was faced with many challenges himself. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family prefers that those who wish make contributions in his name to The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland, 3630 Fairmount Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44118 or to The Paul Lammermeier Foundation, PO Box 91771, Cleveland, OH 44101-3771. Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, October 22nd at 10:30 AM at The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland, 3630 Fairmount Blvd., Shaker Hts., OH 44118. The interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Medina, OH. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT BROWN-FORWARD FUNERAL HOME, 17022 CHAGRIN BLVD., SHAKER HTS., OH, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21ST FROM 5-7 PM.
