John McGuinness

December 18, 1971 — November 14, 2014

JOHN N. McGUINNESS died suddenly November 14th, 2014.

John was loved and cherished by his family. He was kind and full of grace. He was compassionate, giving and strong and we loved him so very much.

John was adopted as an infant from Vietnam to become one of eight children to be raised by the loving McGuinness family of Wickliffe, Ohio. He was always grateful for the opportunities they afforded him and family was something he cherished.

He eventually went on to graduate from the Boler School of Business at John Carroll University receiving his BSBA majoring in Finance and Economics.

John was driven, and went on to earn his MBA at Baldwin Wallace University and was currently employed by Key Bank as Senior VP of Accounting Operations.

John married his wife, Janele, in 1999, and after settling in Shaker Hts., began raising their own family. His greatest pride and joy were his own three sons, Leo, George and Teddy. He thrived on making each of their milestones special. He enjoyed coaching their various sporting ventures and was a Board member of the Bulldog Club. The family travelled often with John planning their many adventures as he wanted to show the boys the world.

John loved to entertain and surround himself with family, preparing amazing meals for them with love.

He was preceded in death by his adopted daughter, Stella. As his community of friends played such an integral part of his life, his family is requesting donations to be made in the name of the Shaker Schools Foundation, 15600 Parkland Dr., Shaker Heights, Ohio 44120.

John was the beloved son of Raymond F. McGuinness (Susan Tullia-McGuinness) of Painesville Twp., OH and Clare I. McGuinness (Robert Farmer) of Bratenahl, OH. He was the dear brother of Kathleen, Maureen, Michele, Mary Pat, Joseph, Colleen and Jessica.
