June was born in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1930. She graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with a BSc, with honors degree in 1951.
She was married in 1952 to her husband of 61 years, Robert McInnes. They lived in Montreal for four years before moving to Cleveland in 1957. June was devoted to her family of three children, Donald, Elizabeth and Susan, and her three grandchildren, Michael, Mac and Lauren.
She was an active contributor to her church and community. She was a prolific and expert knitter and sewer, chaired the ice committee at the Cleveland Skating Club and the Women's Golf Program at Mayfield Country Club, where she was an avid golfer and curler. June was Secretary of the United States Women's Curling Association, travelled three weeks in Scotland with a women's curling team and was an official at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah. She loved music and was also an active volunteer and trustee of The Cleveland Institute of Music.
June died from complications of dementia and spent the last two and a half years as a resident of Arden Courts in Bainbridge, Ohio, where she received expert and loving care. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
June was also the dear sister of Elizabeth Luxford (Frank) of Trenton, Ontario; Ronald O'Brien (Hilda) of Truro, Nova Scotia and Donna Ferguson of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
