BRUCH, KARL, FREDERICK, JR., 92, longtime resident of Cleveland Heights and more recently of Willoughby, died September 27th 2011, husband of Virginia C. nee Chiles for more than 70 years; father of Sally Bruch Sorensen Ricardo Uwe Sorenson, Karl Frederick Bruch III Karen Perme Bruch and Christopher Chiles Bruch Karen McKenna Bruch; grandfather of thirteen; great grandfather of twelve; Son of the late Karl F. Bruch and the late Mildred Osborne Bruch; brother of Dr. Frank O. Bruch Sally of Middlebury, VT, and the late Barbara Bruch Nash John and the late Dr. Peter A. Bruch Martha of Cleveland. Graduate of University School, Class of 1936, and Dartmouth College, Class of 1940. U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II having served in the Philippines. Retired after 42 years as Treasurer of The Hill Acme Co. Active in Junior Achievement and Fairmount Presbyterian Church including 15 years as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 179 located at the Church. Trustee of Fenn College during transition into Cleveland State University; First president of Fairhousing, Inc.; Trustee of Breckenridge Village, Willoughby, OH. A late life interest in sailing brought about the purchase of a sailboat in France, sailing it with three life long friends from France to the USA. Active supporter of numerous charitable organizations throughout Cleveland. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in his name to the charitable organization of your choice. Memorial services will be held at Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Blvd, on Friday October 28th at 3pm.
