Kathryn May Wood, age 80, was the beloved wife of G.T. "Ted" Wood. She was the dear mother of Stephen A. Wood Eileen Chadis Wood of Newport News, VA, Janet L. Felty James A. of Bremerton, WA and Kenneth D. Wood Clara W. of Portola Valley, CA. She was a loving grandmother and great grandmother. Kathryn was the only child of Ernest and Elsie Jantzen. She is survived by sisters-in-law Lucretia Evans and Gertrude Wood and brother-in-law Bob Stark and many nieces and nephews. Kathryn studied physics and earned a bachelors degree from Grinnell College in Iowa, and a masters degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She enjoyed lifelong friendships with schoolmates and attended many College and High School reunions. Kathryn was a volunteer for 24 years in the Archeology Department of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Her involvement was extensive and included publishing a paper on the Hopewell research. She was honored for over 2500 volunteer hours in 2002. Kathryn was an avid violinist, playing in local community ensembles, including the Musicl Art Society. She played in the first violin section of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra for 40 years. Kathryn was a member of the Religious Society of Friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting family and travelling in the United States and Europe.
