Lennie graduated from Flora Stone Mather College CWRU in 1940 with a major in mathematics and was later president of its alumnae association. An industrious woman, Lennie worked at Ohio Bell after college and later, when her children were grown, at the Cleveland Heights Library. Always found with a book in hand, Lennie instilled in her children and grandchildren a love of reading. Lennie was determined, kind, and had a quick wit. A skilled bridge player, she loved the game and played in bridge clubs for almost 50 years. She also enjoyed word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and board games which showcased her exceptional attention to detail. For many years, Lennie was an active member of the College Club of Cleveland and particularly enjoyed participating in its investment club. A native Clevelander, she was a loyal Indians, Browns, and Cavs fan and attended several Ohio State - Michigan games with her late husband, Bob. Lennie loved flowers and decorated her home with her seasonal floral arrangements from tulips and forsythia in the spring to pinecones and greens in the winter. She also loved cooking and entertaining. One of her favorite foods was angel food cake with fresh berries and real whipped cream. Lennie will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to The Memorial Fund of Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 2757 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Heights, OH 44118.
