Louise Denon

August 8, 1912 — December 29, 2011

Louise Veronica Denon passed away this 29th day of December, 2011, at a graceful age of 99 years old. Louise was born on August 8th, 1912 in Brooklyn, New York to John Picard and Louise Rost Picard, and is survived by one daughter, The Hon. Patricia Lobo. She had one brother, John, who was four years younger than herself. Louise was known affectionately as "Dolly". Dolly married Thomas Denon and they had a daughter, Patricia. Patricia Patsy was her life. Louise was lovingly called Nana by all family members and friends alike. After Tommy passed away and "Patsy" married John Sheil, Dolly got her first real job. After retirement, she moved to Denver, Colorado, where she volunteered at the Cathedral and took on numerous babysitting jobs, including that of her loving great-grandson, John. She eventually moved to Cleveland to be closer to one of her grand-daughters, Patty, and her dear daughter, Patricia. Her other grand-daughter , Lisa Elizabeth Sheil-Tafuri John Tafuri lives in Mahopac, New York. Up until ten years ago, she enjoyed walking on her own to the neighborhood stores and to The Church of the Gesu. Since moving into assisted living at the Woodlands, she has participated in Bingo and other activities where she made lots of new friends. Louise was particularly close to her grand-daughter, Patty Patricia Sheil, as Patty would faithfully visit her each day at the assisted care facility, where she resided until her passing. Louise was also exceptionally close to her three great-grandsons, John, Brandon and Patrick. She played a major part in their upbringing and the institution of high moral values. She also had two great-grandchildren who live in New York, Joseph and Katie Tafuri. Louise loved to spend long hours speaking of the great memories of her life's experiences. She certainly shared the wisdom which she learned. One of her greatest accomplishment was her cooking. She loved to cook. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. We love and will always miss you, Nana. Rest in Peace. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday December 31st at 10 AM in The Church of The Gesu, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Hts., OH. Interment Knollwood Cemetery.
