Marcia Linda Bell Crouch was born in Scarsdale, NY, the daughter of Elwell Bell and Linda Stiebling Bell. Marcia is survived by her only sister Nancy Jane Martin of Canton, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Edward C. Crouch, Jr. Marcia grew up in Pleasantville, NY and graduated from high school at the age of 16. She continued onto Furman University in Greenville, SC where she received her bachelor's of science degree in 1942. Many lifelong friendships were formed at Furman and Marcia was preparing for her 70th college reunion. After graduating from Furman, Marcia worked during World War II at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. She married Edward Crouch in 1947 and raised their five children in Cleveland, OH. She was active in the United Methodist Women, the Catherine Horstmann Home for adult women with mental retardation, managed the Church of the Savior shut-in program, and volunteered at the Free Clinic for Animal Health. After her husband's death in 1996, she moved to Atlanta, GA in 2000 to be closer to her family. She attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church and recently became a resident of Park Springs. She is survived by her children Edward Clyde Crouch, III and his wife, Buff Crouch, of Kingwood, TX; Robert Milton Crouch and his wife, Mary Pat Crouch, of Atlanta, GA; Jennie Ruth Shanor and her husband, Paul L. Shanor, of Atlanta, GA; Nancy Bell and her husband, Ron Funk, of Lancaster, PA; and Matthew West Crouch and his wife, Cindy Crouch, of Atlanta, GA. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed annual beach gatherings with her entire family that included an extended family reunion and her bingo tournament for the children with prizes she collected throughout the year. She will be remembered for her kindness to all who knew her and lives on with the wisdom and memories she shared with all of us.
