MARGARET VRETTOS GANNON nee Steenson, formerly of Walnut Creek, California, died March 28th at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of the late Spyros Vrettos who passed away in 1963. Margaret was born in Westby, Wisconsin. She was a life long pianist and organist. She served in the European theater with The American Red Cross during WWII. After the war, she was a middle school music teacher and for over forty years an organist at the The Oakland-SanFrancisco Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Oakland, California. Margaret loved to hike and covered many of the trails and hills in California over the years. Those who wish may make contributions in her name to The Scholarship Fund of The Cleveland Institute of Music, Attn: Development Office, 11021 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106.
