Sally and Joe moved to Coleridge Road in Cleveland Heights in 1964, remaining in their house until 2005. Sally loved Cleveland, and living on Coleridge Road. Her garden at their corner home on Coleridge was annually a popular attraction for the neighborhood, ever changing, but with an accent on tuberous begonias. For many years, Sally was the Northeast Ohio District Sales Manager for Leiter's Designer Fabrics of Kansas City and was widely known to numerous women of the region who sewed to make their own clothing. Some of her dresses are in the collection of Ursuline College. She was an over forty year member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild. Sally volunteered at the Cleveland Museum of Art in the Extensions Department, which sent out artwork to local schools to educate students. She volunteered at Karamu House. Sally was active in the American Furniture Collectors of The Western Reserve Historical Society. She was a long-standing member of the Western Reserve Herb Society, and was an early devotee of tarragon, drying it on top of the refrigerator or putting it in vinegar, to the bemusement of her teenaged sons. Sally also enjoyed her memberships in the Intown Club and the Cleveland Skating Club. Sally's love of music and the performing arts served to guide her generosity to a number of local institutions, though she often chose to do so anonymously.
