Martha Eaton Hickox, the daughter of Edith (nee Ide) and Joseph Oriel Eaton, the founder of Eaton Corporation, died November 21st in her residence at Judson Park, Cleveland, Ohio.
Martha was the beloved wife of the late Charles Hickox, who passed away in 1990, and the late Dunston Perkins, who died in July of 1944, serving in the US Army during WW II.
Martha was the dear mother of Deborah Perkins Hickox of NY, NY; Charles Hickox (Patrice) of Fairfax, CA; Patrick Calhoun Hickox (Brigid) of Boston, MA; Fayette Brown Hickox (Auste) of Weston, CT and Anne Hickox (John Macfarlane) of North Yorkshire, England. She was the dear grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of seven. Martha is also survived by her dear sister, Anne Eaton Parker of Martha's Vineyard, MA.
Martha was born in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Hathaway Brown School for Girls in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She went on to graduate from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
She was a longtime volunteer in the Cleveland area serving many organizations. She was a long time Trustee, and later Trustee Emeritus of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital of Cleveland, a member of the Boards of The Cleveland Music Settlement and also the Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development. She was also a volunteer for the Cleveland Museum of Art and the former Cleveland State Mental Hospital. Martha's dedication to serve so many different organizations was recognized by The Judson Retirement Community as they awarded her the "Judson Smart Living Award' in 2007.
Before she moved to Judson Park in 2004, she had lived in Pepper Pike for over 50 years. She was one of the original residents of Pepper Ridge Road where she enjoyed planting a vegetable garden on that property over the five decades of living there.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 30th at 2 PM in Tucker Hall of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2747 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland, Hts., OH 44106.
