MARTHA L. HORSBURGH nee Luscombe Martha L. Horsburgh, an artist and resident of Palm City, FL passed away December 8, 2011 at the age of 90. Mrs. Horsburgh grew up in Sandusky, OH and graduated from the Flora Stone Mather College of Western Reserve University in 1943. In 1944 she married Charles R. Horsburgh and they lived in Cleveland, OH until retiring to Palm City, FL in 1987. They spent their summers on Boot Island in the Les Chenaux Islands and enjoyed sailing, golf and skiing. Mrs. Horsburgh was active in many volunteer groups including the St. Luke's Hospital Board and the Children's Guild in Cleveland. She held a degree in Library Science and volunteered in many libraries. She was an accomplished watercolor artist and painted landscapes in Michigan and Florida. Her husband of 58 years passed away in 2003, and she is survived by her son C. Robert Horsburgh, Jr. of Boston and daughters Cynthia Requardt of Baltimore, Martha Fusco of Cape Coral, FL, and Ann May of Prescott, AZ, her sister Virginia L. Rogers of Hudson, OH, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to the Les Cheneaux Community Library, P.O. Box 99, Cedarville, MI 49719. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, May 26 at 11 am in Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, OH
