, or to any charity that the giver believes would honor her life. Those who knew her will remember her exceptionally sharp mind, keen wit, and insightful and irreverent sense of humor. In the face of many difficulties, she maintained her optimism, graciousness, and moral compass. Even when gravely ill, she impressed all those who met her with her courage and good humor. In addition to her family, she is survived by several dear friends. One of the delights of her life was that she had maintained close and loving friendships over time and distance. A freelance graphic designer for most of her professional life, she had many commercial, educational, political, and charitable clients in the greater Cleveland area. She was superlatively competent in a number of areas, including model-building and needlework. In Spring 2011 she won Best of Show at the National Model Railroad Association's Mid Central Region Convention for a scratch-built 1:48 scale model that was a perfect replica of a house she had observed in rural Huron County. Her 1:12 scale model of a room in a Tudor mansion was featured in the December 2007 issue of Miniature Collector p. 23. She designed and built the room box and furniture based on careful research of the period, and hand-embroidered the cushions and rugs on fine silk gauze. She was a great and knowledgeable sports fan, particularly of baseball, and would have loved to see the Indians win the World Series one more time. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and listening to bluegrass music. My mother was my best friend and the anchor of my life. I will love and miss her forever.
