Mary Ann Mahoney

Mary Ann Mahoney died on July 19, 2024, she was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 4, 1933. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Stephen A. Mahoney MD. She is survived by her stepchildren, Lora Mahoney and Stephen A. Mahoney IV. Granddaughters Raphaelle Miller (Jamie), Ella Kunkel and Alidar Edmond, great grandchildren Nolan and Ensley. 

She graduated from Tulsa University and earned her MA from Cleveland State University. She taught for many years in the Shaker Heights schools. After retirement she taught reading at Ruffing Montessori School, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Mary Ann was active in the early music field and involved with Apollo’s Fire. She was also active in the Cleveland Opera League and at one time served as president. She and Steve loved to sail and spent half the year in Maine. She was an excellent harpsichordist and enjoyed playing the harpsicords Steve built. She will be missed by all and especially her dog Bertie. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 17th at 11 am, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2747 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Heights, OH 44106.
